Thieve your beauty, I will, O sky! ... Entry by Akshata Pai, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai

You are an elegant blue who wears the pearl of clouds,
Calm winds brush your cheeks while the sun turns you pink.
Tranquil you stand, above the rest
Your ethereal face when you overlook the earth, always seem to wink.

And when the night falls in,
You change your garb to a dusky dark.
Bejewelling yourself with Illuminating lozenge;
You seem to cover yourself all over with a jaunty lark!

I marvel at the spectacular play you have day in day out
Saintly appearances that soothe in the day and the fiendish smirk by the night.
When I see you change colors, I wish I could blend in too
All my faults will then be concealed and all my worth would be in sight.

Sometimes I stand green eyed, looking at you
And yearn to exchange with you, my might
I wish I could sweep away Moon, from you, and wear her on me;
I wish I could thieve your beauty tonight!
